Furniture Rental

As the nation’s second largest furniture rental company, AFR Furniture Rental is focused on ensuring their spaces are fully optimized from day one.

We were proud to be chosen to design and install a turnkey Interlake Mecalux narrow aisle pallet racking system complete with integrated guide rails and entry guides for their spacious new warehouse near Orlando, Florida. This rugged system features oversized 4 inch wide columns.

In addition to supplying all the material handling equipment, or team also handled permit management helping to make the process stress-free for AFR’s management team.

Given that many items in their inventory are not palletized, the AFR Furniture Rental team needed a solution that would allow for ground level storage of sofas, seating, convention displays and other furniture while keeping upper levels free for palletized loads and other furniture.

Safety Meets Efficiency

Each aisle in AFR Furniture Rental’s new facility is now outfitted with rugged guide rails that will provide years of protection for their employees, inventory and equipment.

Pallet Rack Entry Guides

Pallet rack entry guides are designed to help forklifts enter and exit guide rail aisles safely and accurately. The flared ends direct the forklift into proper alignment, reducing the chance of rack or pallet damage. Ideal for drive-in, drive-through, and narrow aisle systems, they enhance safety, protect equipment, and improve overall warehouse efficiency.

Versatile Storage Solution

By increasing the height of the first level bays in select aisles, AFR’s team can now safely store oversized and irregularly shaped furniture such as sectional sofas and mattresses for easy storage and retrieval.

In addition to their primary purpose of preventing lift equipment from damaging racking and the inventory stored within it, guide rail systems also act as a containment barrier at the base of racks.

If an item shifts, slides, or is accidentally pushed through from the opposite side, the rail prevents it from encroaching into the aisle. For instance, in the photo above if any of the chair legs were to enter the aisle it could cause a forklift impact or trip and fall accident which can be easily prevented with a steel guide rail system.

This makes guide rail systems an excellent option for retail operations, furniture warehouses and any other business that stores both palletized and non-palletized goods.
