Our team recently completed the installation of a custom 2,500-square-foot steel mezzanine at HexRock Climbing Center in Sarasota, a 19,000-square-foot indoor bouldering complex.
Designed to maximize the building’s footprint, the mezzanine effectively doubled the usable space in the area where it was installed, creating room for a fitness center, wellness rooms, sauna, yoga studio, co-working spaces, storage areas and restrooms across two levels without expanding the building itself.
Here’s an inside look at this impressive new facility:
Above: Reaching up to 35-feet, the bouldering surfaces at HexRock are designed for a variety of skill levels.
Above: A closer view of the custom mezzanine designed by Mid Florida Material Handling. With a convenient staircase, wheelchair lift, and fully integrated electrical and plumbing systems, it offers the benefits of traditional construction while remaining independent of the building itself, making future modifications or expansion easy.
Above: A yoga studio and sauna built underneath the mezzanine are just two of the amenities available to guests on the ground level.
Above:(L) The second level of the mezzanine features a large co-working area complete with a wheelchair lift. (R) It’s elevated position provides a great view of the bouldering surfaces below.
