Location

When a large national pest control distribution company based in Charlotte, North Carolina needed a more efficient and high-density storage solution, they chose Mid Florida Material Handling to design and install a fully integrated storage system. While we’re headquartered in Florida, we regularly work across the Southeast and nationwide, helping facilities of all sizes optimize their warehouse operations.

This turnkey project included pallet flow, carton flow, and selective racking systems, along with a full suite of services: system design, seismic and high-pile storage analysis, permitting, installation, and even electrical work for exit signage. The goal was simple: create a warehouse layout that maximizes storage, supports smooth workflow, and scales for the future.

Equipment Provided: A Fully Integrated Solution

Pallet Flow Racking: The system is 8 pallets deep x 3 pallets high x 8 pallets wide, designed for 2,000 lb GMA pallets (40” W x 48” D x 52” H). To ensure long term safety and durability, we utilized Interlake Mecalux roll-formed teardrop racking with 13-gauge uprights and heavy-duty baseplates for strength, plus Mallard 3-rail rollers with speed controllers and entry guides for smooth, controlled movement.

Carton Flow: Integrated into selective racking with infinitely adjustable beams, a UNEX SpanTrack poly wheel system with 24 levels (96” x 96”) provides fast and efficient order picking.

Selective Racking: 42” deep x 20’ high teardrop uprights paired with 96” x 4” beams rated at 5,370 lbs per pair, configured four levels high to give maximum flexibility for a variety of products.

Key Benefits

  • Higher storage density thanks to pallet and case flow systems
  • Faster, safer, and more efficient warehouse workflow
  • Fully compliant installation with seismic and high-pile considerations
  • A scalable design that can grow with future needs
